The unpleasant sensations associated with a spring breakdown are familiar to almost every one of us. It often happens that in March-April, weakness piles up: we suffer from drowsiness, complain of a bad mood, loss of interest in life and failure in business.

The depressed state and decrease in vitality have a simple explanation: in winter, the body spends a lot of energy, but its restoration is not provided by food with a reduced content of vitamins. The weakening of the body's defenses, in turn, means an increase in susceptibility to seasonal infections.

This condition is correctable. There are a number of simple tricks to help you come to your senses and meet spring with normal health and good mood.

1. Eat your first green

Ways to deal with spring breakdown

Our ancestors, who knew nothing about beriberi, correctly assessed the role of spring greens in maintaining health and considered it necessary to include the very first sprouts of edible plants in the diet. This experience is quite applicable today.

Of course, it is difficult for a modern city dweller to get ecologically clean leaves of young nettle, dandelion, goutweed, wood lice, burdock, plantain and hazel, fern shoots and similar gifts of nature for a spring salad. But this does not mean that in order to combat beriberi, it remains to use only the greens offered by retail chains. Store-bought herbs and leafy vegetables are not always safe: greenhouse-grown lettuce or fennel can contain substantial doses of harmful chemicals.

In fact, with a little effort, you can get young greenery even in a city apartment. In boxes with soil placed on the windowsill, green onions and garlic feathers, arugula, and some types of leaf lettuce will grow perfectly. Young leaves of carrots, beets and radishes are very useful and palatable, which are easy to “drive out” from root crops planted in such soil. Yes, and the easy care of a personal mini-garden will raise vitality and improve mood no worse than fussing in a summer cottage.

2. Don't miss the spring sun

A person experiencing a spring breakdown, least of all wants to actively move. Overpower yourself, leave your comfortable chair and start walking in the fresh air. The sun's rays activate the body's production of vitamin D, the deficiency of which is bad for well-being.

3. Eat Sprouted Seeds

An excellent help for a weakened organism are biologically active substances concentrated in plant seeds. In the spring, it is optimal to eat them in the form of young sprouts, from which salads, smoothies or juices are prepared.

You can germinate green buckwheat, oats, wheat, legume seeds (except red beans), flax, mustard, barley. Sprouts of pumpkin and sunflower seeds are very useful. Getting this vitamin-rich product is easy. To germinate seeds you need:

  • rinse them with running water, disinfect for 5–7 minutes with a slightly pink solution of potassium permanganate and rinse again;
  • put the seeds in a shallow plate, pour a small amount of water at room temperature and leave to swell for 1-3 days, depending on the type of plant;
  • rinse the swollen seeds and leave on a plate, covered with a wet cotton cloth. The next day, tiny seedlings will appear;
  • place the seed container in the refrigerator. If you keep the sprouts moist, they will grow. The optimal accumulation of nutrients will come on the 4th or 5th day, then the sprouts can be eaten.

It is important to be sure that the seeds selected for germination were not intended for sowing and were not treated with the appropriate chemicals. Therefore, the source material should be purchased only in specialized stores.

4. Drink fresh juices

Freshly squeezed juices are very useful, but you need to use them wisely. Do not think that the more you drink them daily, the faster your health will improve. Many juices contain substances that can harm the body at high concentrations. Remember the following rules:

  • freshly squeezed juice cannot be stored. 10-15 minutes after cooking, it loses a significant part of its beneficial properties. The exception is beetroot juice, which must stand for about 2 hours before drinking;
  • juice is recommended to be diluted with boiled or mineral water;
  • Do not drink juice while eating. It is better to do this half an hour before or half an hour after a meal;
  • the most useful are mixtures of juices (especially fruit and vegetable). Juices with pulp are preferable;
  • after drinking juices containing a large amount of organic acids (malic, pomegranate, orange, etc.), rinse your mouth with clean water to avoid destruction of tooth enamel;
  • you can not drink more than 300 ml of freshly squeezed juice per day;
  • when drinking juices, it is important to take into account the presence of chronic diseases, as well as the likelihood of allergic reactions.

5. Get enough sleep

During sleep, the body produces the hormone melatonin, which improves well-being, activates protective processes, and is a strong antioxidant.

In the event of a breakdown, a good night's rest is especially important. In spring, dawn comes early, so it is advisable to go to bed no later than 22:00 in order to make the most productive use of the sunny morning hours.

6. Consider a summer vacation

When your health is not very good, you should think about something pleasant as often as possible. For example, planning a summer vacation – choosing travel options, familiarizing yourself with the places you want to visit in advance. It makes sense to start preparing a holiday image: study summer fashion trends, look into stores, update your wardrobe and hairstyle. For a woman, this can be one of the best ways to give yourself positive emotions and arouse interest in life.

Spring weakness can and should be fought. If you take care of yourself a little, this condition will quickly pass, and you will meet the season of nature's renewal cheerful, healthy and positive.
