In addition to the futuristic exterior, the novelty received a wide range of modern features, such as autopilot and a convertible interior.

The automatic steering system operates in two modes – Easy and Boost. Thus, the driver can switch from autopilot to manual control and vice versa. However, even in manual mode, the vehicle's intelligent systems help the driver choose the right trajectories and speed. We are talking about “digital intelligence”: artificial intelligence is able to predict future road events, tell a person how to act in difficult conditions, and independently solve problems.

Body BMW Vision Next 100 made of carbon and plastic parts. An interesting design feature of the concept are the wheels hidden behind the body panels. In the designs of future cars, BMW is going to use lightweight composite materials that are similar in characteristics to carbon fiber, but have not even been invented yet. For the manufacture of parts, a hypothetical 4D printing technology will be used.

The interior design of the coupe is made to match the appearance. Almost all interior design elements have nothing to do with the usual interior decoration of a production car. Instead of a steering wheel, a less bulky steering wheel is installed, which is removed when the autopilot is turned on, and the anatomical seats in the autopilot mode turn towards each other for more convenient communication between passengers and the driver.

The front panel and center console have a minimum number of controls. Most of the functions are performed using gestures, which are read thanks to the many sensors on the dashboard. A lantern is located on the lower edge of the windshield. Its color indicates the selected driving mode (manual or autopilot) and even serves as a traffic light for pedestrians.

An important innovation is Alive Geometry (“live geometry”). It consists of almost 800 movable triangular modules located on the wings and dashboard. The Bavarians report that the movements of these modules along three axes are more like gestures – they move forward, turn red and, like a flock of birds, tell the driver and other road users the chosen direction, warn of obstacles on the way.

Specifications of the conceptual BMW Vision Next 100 are not disclosed. It is only known that this concept is fully running and driven by an electric drive on one axle. Representatives of the company emphasize that the shown car is more of a concept for the development of the automotive industry as a whole than a separate model of the brand.

BMW Group Chairman Harald Krüger said: "Individual mobility is at the start of an exciting new journey. Mobility is diversified, we will integrate all kinds of mobility. Our technology will learn from the person, our cars will be digital drivers, travel will be a delight. But the customer is still at the center."
