The Burj Khalifa was originally planned to be the tallest building in the world. When the skyscraper was still under construction, its design height was kept secret. This was done in case a skyscraper of a higher height was designed somewhere – then adjustments could be made to the design of the Dubai tower.

The Dubai Tower was conceived as a "city within a city" – with its own lawns, boulevards and parks. The total cost of the construction is about $1,5 billion.

Burj Khalifa is a key element of the new business center in Dubai. Inside the complex there is a hotel, apartments, offices and shopping centers. The building has three separate entrances: to the hotel, apartments and office space.

The Armani Hotel and the firm's offices occupy floors 1 to 39 (with the exception of floors 17 and 18, these are technical floors). 900 apartments occupy floors from 44 to 72 and from 77 to 108. The 100th floor is wholly owned by the Indian billionaire B. R. Shetty, on the 100th floor there are 3 apartments, each with an area of approximately 500 square meters. Office premises occupy floors from 111 to 121, from 125 to 135 and from 139 to 154. On the 43rd and 76th floors there are gyms, swimming pools, observation decks with a jacuzzi.

The highest observation deck in the world is located on the 148th floor at a height of 555 meters, the second platform is located on the 124th floor at a height of 452 meters.

On the 122nd floor there is the Atmosfera restaurant with 80 seats – this is a restaurant located at the highest altitude in the world. The artificial tower above the main building, in addition to its decorative function, also has a communication function, since it is equipped with the necessary telecommunications equipment.

The air inside the building is not only cooled, but also aromatized thanks to special membranes. This fragrance was created especially for the Burj Khalifa. Fragrant and fresh air is supplied through special grates in the floor.

Glasses do not allow dust to pass through and reflect the sun's rays, allowing you to maintain the optimum temperature in the building. The surface area of the building is approximately equal to the area of 17 football fields. The windows of the Burj Khalifa are washed daily, but it takes about three months to wash the entire surface.

Especially for the Burj Khalifa, a special brand of concrete was developed that can withstand temperatures up to +50 °C. The concrete mixture was laid only at night, and ice was added to the solution.

The building has 57 elevators. In this case, only the service elevator rises from the first floor to the last. Residents and visitors of the skyscraper will have to move between floors with transfers. Elevators installed in a skyscraper develop speeds up to 10 m/s.

At the foot of the skyscraper in a 12-hectare artificial lake is the Dubai Musical Fountain (read more about it here here ☛). The fountain is illuminated by 6600 light sources and 50 colored spotlights. The length of the fountain is 275 meters, and the height of the jets reaches 150 meters. The fountain has musical accompaniment from contemporary Arabic and world music.
