At the CES exhibition, the American luxury car manufacturer Cadillac presented a new autonomous two-seater electric car, InnerSpace. It joined the unique Cadillac Halo concept portfolio, embodying the vision of the future of autonomous vehicles.
The Cadillac Halo concept car lineup utilizes advanced future technologies, new autonomous driving options, and extended connected vehicle features.
Vehicles in the Cadillac Halo Concept portfolio turn the journey into a premium passenger experience. Innovative solutions are designed to enhance travel experiences, while the shift to autonomous driving will increase personal free time for personal use.
Cadillac InnerSpace: Innovative Luxury
2-seater electric autonomous concept Cadillac InnerSpace reimagines the perception of cars: a fully autonomous experience allows two passengers to relax during the trip without focusing on the driving process.
Biometric access and AI-based interfaces, together with a large immersive panoramic LED SMD display, provide passengers the opportunity to interact with augmented reality, enjoy entertainment, or use health recovery functions during the trip.
The Cadillac InnerSpace uses the wireless Ultium Platform battery management system, which allows battery modules to be efficiently distributed throughout the vehicle. This enabled designers to optimize the interior and make it even more spacious.
Externally, the concept car features wide panoramic roof and side glass, providing passengers with nearly unobstructed 360-degree views. The roof opens together with the doors for easier entry and exit, while the seats rotate outward when the door opens for added convenience.
Achievements in Future Development
The first two Cadillac Halo concepts were unveiled at CES 2021 (2 photos below).
Cadillac PersonalSpace — a single-seat personal concept with vertical take-off and landing, designed to literally move passengers above the noise and congestion of ground traffic.
Cadillac SocialSpace — a spacious autonomous vehicle accommodating up to six people, allowing passengers to relax and rejuvenate. The focus of all concept cars is on the individual, their sensations, and well-being.
The World Through Cadillac's Eyes
By developing technologies and improving mobility solutions, Cadillac aims not only to achieve an exceptional level of personal comfort — each innovative solution serves much broader goals.
Brian Nesbitt, Executive Director of GM, Global Advanced Design, and Global Architecture Studio, states:
“The vehicles in the Cadillac Halo concept portfolio are designed to enable effortless movement through extraordinary means. This vision for the next decade and beyond demonstrates the capabilities offered by General Motors' comprehensive approach to autonomous driving technology, aiming to create a world with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero road congestion.”
