The American car manufacturer Lincoln presented the Lincoln Model L100 concept car with aerodynamic styling and advanced technologies at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, California, USA, creating an exciting interior of tomorrow.
Paying tribute to Lincoln's first luxury car from 1922 (Model L), the presented concept car draws inspiration from the brand's design heritage, promoting its vision of future mobility.
This year, Lincoln is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Formally, it was founded back in 1917. However, in 1922, it was acquired by Ford, which still owns the brand to this day. This year is considered Lincoln's "year of birth."
Marking Lincoln's 100th anniversary, company president Joy Falotico said: “We are experiencing a special moment in our history. Over the past 100 years, Lincoln has introduced numerous innovations and pushed the boundaries of design that have come to define our brand as we know and love it today. With the Model L100 concept, we are reimagining what a Lincoln sanctuary could look like for our customers of tomorrow, pushing us forward to define the next chapter in Lincoln's story.”
The Lincoln Model L100 embodies a balance between lush elegance and subtle restraint. The design with smooth lines is very aerodynamic and truly attractive, and the transformable space allows the concept car to be truly versatile. According to the creators, these are the features that all future Lincoln electric models should have.
The car uses advanced battery cell technologies that can directly control energy density and provide an energy-efficient operating system.
The show car opens in a grand way. Two doors swing on reverse hinges, although in this case, the doors refer to the entire side, from the front fenders to the rear. The roof also rises, making it easier for passengers to get in and out.
The car's interior is also very unusual. Instead of a traditional steering wheel, there is an original controller whose design is inspired by gemstones. However, a steering wheel is not needed here, as the car is equipped with an advanced autopilot.
The central console has an interactive screen that includes, among other things, a chessboard. However, this is not the only digital element in the cabin. The floor is also digital, and the interior is filled with lighting elements that collectively create a very comfortable atmosphere for passengers.
The front seats transform in such a way that the front passengers can sit facing the rear passengers, creating a more comfortable environment. The interior uses exclusively eco-friendly materials that can be recycled.
