Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX — high-tech concept car with a range of 1,000 km

The Mercedes-Benz company has created the electric sedan VISION EQXX, which takes concepts like mobility, performance, and efficiency to a radically new level. It is capable of covering at least 1,000 km on a single charge, boasts excellent aerodynamics, and has record-low energy consumption, while the interior, finished with recycled materials, features an impressive 47.5-inch display. It is definitely the best electric car in Mercedes-Benz history and a completely new milestone in the industry.

At the moment, the Vision EQXX is a concept car and cannot be purchased anywhere. However, in the future, it will become a production car, and it will definitely be one of the greatest electric cars on the market.

The show car's range is 1,000 km, allowing comfortable travel from Kyiv to Riga or from Paris to Berlin. Impressive potential, especially considering the electric car is equipped with a relatively compact battery with a capacity of less than 100 kWh. Moreover, the battery is very light: it is 30% lighter than the new Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS (read about it here ☛).

One of the main qualities of the Vision EQXX is the minimal energy consumption level: only 10 kWh per 100 km. The conceptual sedan is also equipped with a modest electric motor with a power of just over 200 hp. The design abundantly uses carbon, making the body quite light: the car weighs 1,750 kg, while its length is 4.63 meters and the wheelbase is 2.8 meters.

To power the climate control and other electrical equipment, a separate energy source is used - solar panels located on the roof of the electric car. With them, the sedan can get an additional 25 km of electric range.

Another impressive feature of the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is its aerodynamics. The drag coefficient reaches a benchmark value of just 0.17 Cx.

The interior of the concept car features comfortable separate seats for four people. An impressively large 47.5-inch display stretches across almost the entire width of the dashboard. The finish uses recycled diaper plastic and faux leather made from mushrooms.

The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX is an exciting, inspiring, yet entirely realistic path forward for electric vehicle technologies. In addition to pioneering energy efficiency, it offers meaningful answers to pressing questions. For instance, the use of environmentally friendly materials significantly reduces the carbon footprint. Its user interface features a radically new seamless display that comes to life with responsive real-time graphics and spans the entire width of the car's interior. Other UI/UX elements help the car and driver efficiently manage travel, even using technologies that mimic the workings of the human brain. Instead of simply increasing the battery size, the cross-functional international team focused their efforts on maximizing efficiency for long-distance travel. They did everything possible regarding powertrain efficiency, energy density, aerodynamics, and lightweight construction.
